Weingut Dr. Heger is located in Ihringen, southern  Kaiserstuhl region of Baden. The family name is inextricably bound to the Ihringer Winklerberg, one of the warmest locations in Germany.

Mainly Pinot varieties are grown here on characteristic terraces of volcanic and loess soils. The same applies to the adjoining Achkarrer Schlossberg, their second prestigious vineyard. The wines of Weingut Dr. Heger are exclusively dry, with the exception of a few nobly sweet bottles.

The Heger family are firm believers that the estate should produce only high-end wines from their top vineyard sites. Wines for daily enjoyment are produced under the estate’s second line "Weinhaus Heger", based on the French model of a “Négociants éleveurs.” The goal is a clean, consistent  separation of wine quality levels and a clear delineation  of taste profiles.
