The Gundersheimer Höllenbrand is one of the top locations in the region. A slope, dry and barren, dominated by limestone. Completely south facing – simply perfect. One of our best vineyard locations. The Pinot Noir vines are still very young, just 6 years old. These are vines whose genes go back to the ancient vineyards in Burgundy. We named this wine “Frühwerk”, which means "early work" in German, because we believe that the vines are still too young to exploit the full potential of the Höllenbrand terroir. Seen in this way, this wine represents the – albeit impressive and opulent – ​​early work of a vineyard in its still young creative phase. A thoroughly impressive “Frühwerk”.
