About us

Affentaler Winzer eG was founded in 1908 as Naturweinbauverein Affental. This makes the company one of the oldest winegrowers' associations in Germany.

The Affentaler vines thrive in the Ortenau region of Baden around the town of Bühl on the western foothills of the Black Forest. Loess and granite weathered soil gives the Affental wines their unmistakable character. The traditional monkey bottle has been a trademark of the company since 1949. Thanks to this unique bottle and the excellent wine quality, ‘Affentaler’ is one of the best-known wine brands in Germany.

Since 2018, the catchment area of the Affentaler winegrowers has expanded to include the vineyards of the neighbouring town of Baden-Baden. The wines produced here are marketed via the Baden-Badener Weinhaus am Mauerberg.

Umweger Stich den Buben Riesling 2023 off-dry

A Riesling Kabinett in the traditional Bocksbeutel bottle. The nose reveals an exotic scent with clear honeyed fruit. The flavor profile of mango and passion fruit is elegantly sweet, paired with a fresh acidity. It is an excellent companion to light dishes such as steamed saltwater and freshwater fish and poultry with light sauces. This Riesling also pairs very well with Asian rice dishes.

Neuweierer Mauerberg Riesling 2023 Spätlese off-dry

A fruity Riesling with subtle hints of citrus fruits. It presents a full-bodied taste of ripe apples. A touch of pineapple and vine peach complete this wine into an elegant and lively Riesling. It pairs excellently with Asian cuisine, seafood, fish, and white meats. This wine also goes wonderfully with desserts such as fruit salad and crème brûlée.

Neuweierer Mauerberg Riesling Reserve 2023 dry

„Reserve“ stands for absolute top-quality wines in our selection. Selected winegrowers, yield-reduced vineyards with a special microclimate, sun-drenched south-facing slopes, and hand-picked grapes are the foundation of this Riesling. It pairs excellently with fish, shellfish and dishes with white meat. But even outside of meals, the king of white wines shines through its invigorating aroma.

Neuweierer Mauerberg Riesling 2023 Spätlese dry

Elegance defines this wine, which is made from healthy, ripe grapes. It brings the full fruit to the glass and shines with its freshness. A lively wine with a great balance of sweetness and acidity and a very persistent finish. It pairs excellently with lobster, scallops, fish, lightly spiced dishes, pork and smoked meats.

Pinot Noir "Affenflasche" 2023 off-dry

Dark red with a ripe aroma of cherries and wild berries, a powerful yet harmonious body with fruity fullness and a delicate sweetness. It pairs very well with pasta and pizza, hearty dishes with fruits or toast. It is also perfect after a meal—enjoyed with a good book or in a cheerful gathering with friends.

Pinot Noir 2022 dry

Dark red, with a ripe aroma of cherries and wild berries, complemented by a subtle toasted aroma, a lingering body with fine tannins. It pairs very well with hearty dishes such as venison roast, beef or lamb fillet, or also with mature cheese.

Lucida Vallis Pinot Noir Réserve 2022 dry

An impressive red with beautiful reflections. Aged for 24 months in French oak, it shows aromas of dark cherries and preserved wild berries, complemented by notes of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is dense, velvety, and yet incredibly lively. Powerful, it lingers long on the palate. Ideal with hearty meat dishes, game, lamb, and beef, as well as with aromatic cheese and fine pâtés.
