About us
Riffel is a family winery in Germany's famous winegrowing area Rheinhessen. Located at the confluence of the Rhein and Nahe rivers in Bingen am Rhein, the winery has been run by Carolin and Erik Riffel since 2005. Riffel cultivates wine in the fourth generation, with Erik Riffel becoming cellar master in 1991 after his training as a vintner. The winery follows organic principles since 2009 and converted to biodynamic viticulture in 2012. Riffel owns 18 hectares of vineyards and produce Riesling, Silvaner and Burgunder in top sites: the Grand Cru vineyards Scharlachberg and Kirchberg, Rosengarten, Osterberg and Bubenstück. Quartzite soils lend the wines a unique character with an intense minerality. Riffel has been awarded the German Winery Prize 2018 and is member of Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen, the union of the region's best wine makers. All wines are vegan certified.

2023 Riesling BIO dry
The grapes for this wine grow on the Binger Rochusberg. After the harvest and a maceration period of up to 8 hours, the grapes were gently pressed. The fermentation was temperature-controlled in stainless steel tanks, partly spontaneous. After storage on the full yeast until February, the wine was bottled at the end of-March.
With a clear, fresh fruit, which is reminiscent of lemon, lime and pineapple, it is the perfect companion for spending hours together with friends or to relax.

2023 Binger Scharlachberg Riesling BIO dry
The fully ripe grapes were harvested by hand at the end of September. The grapes were left on the mash for 12 hours to optimize the balance. After pressing, the must was fermented with the grapes' own yeasts in traditional barrels (1200l) made from local oak. Afterwards the wine was stored on the full yeast until filling end of July.full of quartzite power! Our "flagship" stands for vibrant energy and powerful fruit and exactly reflects its warm, very sunny location.
