About us
FLAT IS EASY, WE LOVE IT STEEP!
Steep slope means: Pure nature, spectacular landscapes, always a bit of adventure, perfect sunlight and especially because: Riesling, is in a league of its own!
We have decided with full conviction and with all passion for wine growing in this unique cultured landscape, because the very special combination of different slate soils and different slopes is exactly what makes Mosel wines so unique.
SINCE MDCCXLIV
We are able to look back on a long history – first mentioned in 1744. Even without a Chateau or noble blood, we can be recognized by our quality, inventiveness, innovations, honest work, fast service and fair prices. Because of this we have conquered the hearts of a colorful crowd of wine lovers from around the world in recent years.
QUALITY FANATICS FROM RIESLING-CANYON
By consciously low yields and using ungrafted vines, we can always guarantee a high quality. The careful vinification, gentle grape processing, cool, slow, partly spontaneous fermentation and ripening result in individual Riesling wines, which reflect the uniqueness of the vintage and the vineyard.

Rivaner
Grauschiefer Riesling dry
This is “Mosel-PUR”. One of the most beautiful representatives of this style that has been around for so long and cannot be copied anywhere else. Full of energy, excitement and liveliness. It is touching, strong in character, full of minerality and so wonderfully elegant and salty. Something like the perfect marriage of physiological ripeness with lively acidity. Made of stainless steel, fresh and clear and yet read precisely to the point.
Rosé Pinot Noir
The Pinot Noir was harvested early on loess and clay soils. The result is a salmon-colored wine that smells of freshness from the first moment. In the foreground there is always a fine strawberry aroma, never too sweet, always subtle. On the palate the wine has a fine grip, which is due to a slightly stony minerality. No matter how hot the summer can be, this drop is the perfect way to cool down.
Erdener Treppchen Riesling Grosses Gewächs
In order to emphasize the typicality of the location even more, the Treppchen GG was aged in a natural stone barrel made of granite. This exclusive expansion on full yeast until June puts a big smile on our faces. This is a wonderfully intense Riesling, with complexity and depth. It really grabs you. On the palate there is a dense Riesling with a deep and slatey texture. You can actually taste the slate here.
