Light, characterful Riesling is my ideal of Mosel wine. Our grapes grow on top-class terroir and vines of biblical age. In the cellar, we aim to let these natural treasures unfold with minimal intervention. Our philosophy is rooted in traditional winemaking, which we interpret in a contemporary way.

The tradition of our estate dates back to 1803. During the secularization under Napoleon, our ancestors purchased vineyards in the Maximiner Klosterlay. These vineyards remain the foundation of our winery to this day. We are especially proud of one very special site: in 1896, our parcel in the Maximin Herrenberg was planted ungrafted. It is one of the oldest Riesling vineyards in the world. This vineyard remains preserved in its original form and provides the basis for our finest wines.
