Johanninger x Weinreich GbR
About us
Johanninger and Weinreich – two independent wineries.
Both estates share a clear philosophy: precise, terroir-driven wines and a consistently organic approach since 2009.
JOHANNINGER, based in Biebelsheim, Rheinhessen, manages vineyards in Rheinhessen and the Nahe. Rheinhessen is characterized by traditional and international varieties on loess and gravel soils, while the Nahe vineyards grow Burgundy varieties on chalky clay soils. The portfolio is complemented by an in-house sparkling wine production.
WEINREICH, also in Rheinhessen, works on loess, clay, and limestone soils. The minimalistic portfolio focuses on Riesling and Burgundy varieties, complemented by the natural wine line „Natürlich Weinreich“ with unfiltered and unsulfured wines.
The two estates are connected not only by their personal partnership but also by their shared commitment to quality and origin as members of Maxime Herkunft. At the fair, they will present selected wines: distinctive Burgundies, terroir-driven Rieslings, international varieties, and handcrafted sparkling wines from their own cellar.

Products & Services
At Johanninger, the focus is on Burgundy and red wines, defined by terroir and drinkability. From the village wines upwards, the philosophy remains: careful oak aging in Tonneaux and Barriques, giving the wines structure, depth, and longevity. A sparkling wine completes the selection.
Weinreich presents Rieslings and natural wines, kept as pure as possible: no added sulfur, no filtration. The wines are characterized by clarity, fruit, and complexity, always expressing the terroir. A sparkling wine is also part of the portfolio.
2024 Riesling dry JOHANNINGER x WEINREICH
Riesling times 2 – Weinreich meets Johanninger.
A characterful Riesling cuvée sourced from the finest vineyards of both estates, where pebble-rich soils meet deep clay. The result is a wine that is both joyful and refined. Delicate minerality comes together with elegant fruit and precise acidity. Clear, vibrant and unmistakably full of drinking pleasure.
2023 Bechtheim dry Village Wine WEINREICH
The terroir of Bechtheim's finest vineyard site lends itself to a very special Riesling as golden in personality as it is in the glass. It wins hearts and minds with notes of spice and fruit. Ripe notes of peach and apple combine with minerality on the palate to create a bright, velvety mouthfeel. A word of warning: the sunny disposition of this Riesling is contagious.
2022 TACHELES dry Natural Wine NATÜRLICH WEINREICH
The sensitive handling of the grapes is the foundation of a high-quality product we are aiming for. Fermentation on skins with indigenous yeast over 4-6 weeks. In wooden barrels the wine is stored on the lees until bottling.
A funky scent of curry leaf, grapefruit and prickly pear flows out of the glass. The fine tannins make the wine tart and refreshing.Unusual material, which is a lot of fun and offers a lot to learn and discover.
2023 Kreuznach Chardonnay dry Village wine JOHANNINGER
A Chardonnay that convinces with its elegance and minerality, paired with subtle smoky notes from aging in French tonneaux. Ripe yellow stone fruit and the mineral character of our soils make this Chardonnay a truly distinctive drinking experience.
2023 JUNKER Spätburgunder dry JOHANNINGER
Rich and seductive. The pure expression of fruit: dark, opulent, sensual. Candied black cherries, blackberry pulp, raspberry seeds, smoke, vanilla, and velvety tannins. Concentrated and full-bodied, fleshy and fruit-sweet, yet strikingly cool at its chalky core. Exceptionally calibrated in its intensity, while provocatively natural on the palate. Despite all its power, it remains transparent and unadorned. Power without pretence.
