About us

The Schwarzwaldbrennerei & Weingut Wild is located in the picturesque town of Gengenbach in the Black Forest. Their passion for creating fine spirits dates back to 1855. In the meantime, the fourth generation has joined the business. In their distillery, the three brothers celebrate traditional Black Forest distilling craftsmanship as well as the region’s original winemaking traditions, and—with a distinctly WILD spirit of innovation—also create sophisticated alcohol-free alternatives.

They grow much of the fruit for their products themselves, in harmony with nature, and collaborate with regional farmers as well. The fruits they use are always selected with the utmost care, because only the best fruit can yield an exquisite flavor.

Numerous awards repeatedly confirm the exceptional quality of their products. They have received multiple gold medals at the International Spirits Award and were even honored as the ‘Best German Whisky.’ Their fine spirits have also impressed the jury at Falstaff on several occasions, making Schwarzwald Distillery & Wild Winery the most highly awarded German distillery at the Falstaff Spirits Trophy. The alcohol-free Orange Aperitivo FINE Spritz was so impressive that it was named the best alcohol-free aperitif.

At the Wild Winery, they combine all their sources of expertise to practice traditional viticulture, refreshed with innovative accents in just the right places. In the cellar as well, all processes are handled with restraint and alternative methods, enhancing the individuality and unique style of the wines—always with an uncompromising commitment to quality.

The Wild family also cultivates several orchards and steep-slope vineyards, which play a significant role in preserving the openness of this beautiful region and thereby greatly contribute to maintaining the characteristic cultural landscape of the Black Forest.

The Wild family operates several orchards and steeply sloping vineyards.

The Vordere Strohbacher Martinsberg is our local vinyard and also the only location that is based exclusively on loess and gneiss soils.

Our FINE Spritz—according to Falstaff, the best non-alcoholic (orange) aperitif—laid the foundation for our non-alcoholic Wild Virgins line.

The fourth generation has now joined the business. In their distillery, the three brothers celebrate the traditional Black Forest art of distilling and the original craft of winemaking, and with WILD innovative spirit they also produce sophisticated non-alcoholic alternatives.

The Wild Winery was founded in 2015 and has been bursting with innovative spirit and creative drive from vintage to vintage ever since. We have broken with the rigid ideas and rules of the old wine world in a wonderfully carefree manner and have broken new ground.

The passion for creating fine spirits dates back to 1855.

FINE Spritz

FINE Spritz is an alcohol-free orange aperitif, inspired by the Italian original and handmade. Combined with tonic water (or alcohol-free sparkling wine, if desired), it is perfect for your alcohol-free spritz. We use steam distillation and extraction/maceration of various botanicals in the production process.

LÚVO Riesling x Passion Flower x Red Williams – Non-alcoholic

This non-alcoholic fruit secco cuvée is based on fresh, dealcoholized Riesling, exotic passion flower, and sweet red Williams pears.

Tropical fruit, flowers, and ripe pears characterize the bouquet. Fruity on the palate, with a fine mousse and balanced freshness.

LÚVO Green Tea x Hop Blossom – Non-alcoholic

The basis of this Green Label composition is pure Black Forest spring water, in which high-quality Japanese Sencha green tea is cold macerated. This particularly gentle process preserves the freshness, depth, and green tea aromas.

We then refine it with selected orchard fruit juices, herbs, spices, and dried fruits. Hop blossom rounds off the profile with a malty depth and an invigorating, delicately tart bitter note – clear, complex, and uncompromisingly dry.

After careful clarification and maturation, the composition is finely carbonated – for a lively, non-alcoholic Secco full of character and freshness.

Pinot Blanc dry Herzstück

For the ***Herzstück*** edition, we use only the best grapes from the oldest vineyards. Due to our strict quality criteria, a Herzstück is not produced every year from every variety, but only when the respective grape variety finds ideal conditions. In order to showcase the terroir of these top wines in the best possible way, they are produced very naturally, i.e. without pure yeasts. The result is a wine with a lot of character, which is aged dry in wooden barrels. The bouquet has classic Burgundy notes of ripe fruit and fine yeast, no primary aromas, but natural Burgundy aromas from the grape. Spontaneous and wild yeasts create an exotic fragrance. It is mild, harmonious, and long on the palate, accompanied by a creamy Burgundy flavor. It has very good aging potential and is an excellent accompaniment to food, as it remains in the background.

12-point volcano blood orange spirit

Only fully ripe Moro blood oranges from the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily are used for this premium brandy. Thanks to the perfect conditions there, these oranges have an exceptionally concentrated fruit aroma. They grow on fertile volcanic soil, which gives the fruit the perfect Sicilian flavor. After harvesting, the fruit is peeled by hand, separating the flesh from the peel. While the flesh is macerated in alcohol for several days, the peels are dried. During distillation, the peels are then hung in an aroma basket in the still. This special process is called steam extraction and produces distillates with an exceptionally intense aroma.
