About us
Family
The cousins Martin and Michael are successfully running the 1865 founded winery. Martin’s son Julian, the next generation, has already joined the winery after studying enology in Geisenheim. Over the years and generations, the Family dynasty has grown its vineyards to around 95 hectares.
Pioneers in dealcoholized wines
When we began in 2012, as one of the few pioneers in dealcoholized wines and sparkling wines, it was just a small market. Within the last couple of years, the market grew, and we started building our portfolio with a huge success. All dealcoholized wines and sparkling wines are made from our own grapes and wines.
Preserving what mother nature gives us
At all steps in the winemaking process, our main focusis on preserving the fragile flavors of each grape variety and vineyard. This involves meticulous manual work and close attention to detail. Our press house has been constructed in such a way that we can use gravity only for crushing and pressing to reduce mechanical pressure on the grapes. Gentle pressing, a slow sedimentation, fermentation at cool temperatures and gentle filtration preserve the fine grape flavors and give an elegant structure to our wines.
Next generation vineyard management
Sustainable and ecologically sound since 1980. We have followed the guidelines for sustainable viticulture in our vineyards to ensure that we are producing wines in harmony with the ecosystem. Cover crops are planted between vine rows for a natural nutrient supply and to attract beneficial organisms into the vineyard. We also avoid the use of herbicides, pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. These practices along with the rest of our sustainability plan contribute to a natural increase in biodiversity and to the preservation of healthy vineyards for the next generations.
