The Markus Molitor estate is located in the heart of the Wehlener Klosterberg vineyards in the Middle Moselle region. Riesling and Burgundy grapes are grown on over 25 spectacular hillside vineyards (some of which are planted with very old vines) using uncompromising manual methods and with absolute respect for nature. Late harvests and rigorous selection of individual grapes mean that yields are extremely limited. In keeping with the philosophy of naturalness, terroir character, complexity and ageing potential, all wines are fermented spontaneously, mostly in large wooden barrels, without the use of stabilisers or additives. Markus Molitor's wines express the almost infinite facets of Mosel Riesling in a unique interplay of fruit and minerality, sweetness and acidity.
