About us
Our family manages three different businesses
Weingut Selbach-Oster, our family domaine/estate. Here we produce almost exclusively Riesling, supplemented by some Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, on the steep slopes of the long, south-facing vineyard ramp of famous grand cru Mosel vineyards stretching from Zeltingen upstream to Wehlen, Graach and Bernkastel. Selbach-Oster wines are grown, produced and bottled by Weingut Selbach-Oster.
J & H Selbach, our second cellar, make wines from custom-grown fruit and juice that we source from long-term contracts, enabling us to secure consistent quality because we work with the same growers, often in the third generation and longer. J & H Selbach wines are produced/cellared and bottled by our family
Though very small, with activities only during a few days each year, we are active as one of eight registered brokers at the auctions of top wines from the leading German domaines (from four regional chapters of the VDP and also “Der Ring”, formerly Bernkasteler Ring) . In combination with the J & H Selbach négociant business ( consolidation, storage, shipping ) our broker business makes us a “one stop shop” for the complete German wine needs of our customers.
With all that we do, consistently high quality is imperative. Our focus lies solely on the quality-minded segment of the market.

Products & Services
2024 Weissburgunder trocken
Crisp, yellow fruit: apples, pear and quince. Medium bodied dry wine with only the slightest touch of oak from a partial fermentation in 2 year old “fuder” barrels (balance in stainless steel) and a refreshing zing from good acidity. Well balanced, crisp dry wine for the table!
2023 Zeltingen Sonnenuhr GG
From old vines, yielding small-berried, fully ripe, healthy grapes. On the nose scents of ripe, yellow stone fruit and flowers with just a hint of oak. On the palate a hint of apricot and peach, herbs and a touch of “salty” minerality. Medium-bodied, with a fascinating array of slate and fruit flavors in a beautiful balance. Long finish.
2024 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett
A classic Kabinett flying the colors of this great vineyard. Medium-bodied, with notes of minerals, peaches and a touch of citrus. Very juicy, with it’s fruitiness harmoniously woven into layers of minerality and crisp acidity, it finishes long and lively.
