About us

Our family manages three different businesses

  1. Weingut Selbach-Oster, our family domaine/estate. Here we produce almost exclusively Riesling, supplemented by some Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, on the steep slopes of the long, south-facing vineyard ramp of famous grand cru Mosel vineyards stretching from Zeltingen upstream to Wehlen, Graach and Bernkastel. Selbach-Oster wines are grown, produced and bottled by Weingut Selbach-Oster.

  2. J & H Selbach, our second cellar, make wines from custom-grown fruit and juice that we source from long-term contracts, enabling us to secure consistent quality because we work with the same growers, often in the third generation and longer. J & H Selbach wines are produced/cellared and bottled by our family

  3. Though very small, with activities only during a few days each year, we are active as one of eight registered brokers at the auctions of top wines from the leading German domaines (from four regional chapters of the VDP and also “Der Ring”, formerly Bernkasteler Ring) . In combination with the J & H Selbach négociant business ( consolidation, storage, shipping ) our broker business makes us a “one stop shop” for the complete German wine needs of our customers.

With all that we do, consistently high quality is imperative. Our focus lies solely on the quality-minded segment of the market.
