About us

Weingut Spiess is a family estate in the warm south of Rheinhessen, with documented roots reaching back to 1509.
For centuries, our home, the historic Riederbacherhof, has been the center of our winemaking tradition and the heart of our identity.

As a team and as a family, we share a deep sense of continuity and dedication.
Our work is shaped by respect for our heritage, a strong emotional bond to our vineyards, and a clear vision for the wines we want to create.
Craftsmanship, intuition, and a genuine love for wine guide us from grape to glass.

Our 43 hectares of vineyards surround Bechtheim, Oppenheim, and Westhofen. These sites, defined by warm microclimates and limestone-influenced soils, allow us to craft wines with clarity, structure, and expressive depth. Our focus lies on the varieties that best reflect our region and our philosophy: Riesling, Pinot Noir, and the Burgundy family, complemented by characterful red wines that highlight our estate’s long-standing commitment to quality.

Every bottle we create carries our signature: the continuity of a centuries-old tradition, the emotion of a family deeply connected to its craft, and the desire to share the authentic taste of Rheinhessen with the world.

Still Wine

We specialize in Riesling, Pinot Noir, Burgundy varieties, and select international reds, guided by sustainability and minimal intervention, including hand-harvesting, spontaneous fermentation, lees aging, and French oak maturation for reds.
Top sites such as Bechtheim Geyersberg, Hasensprung, Oppenheimer Herrenberg, and Westhofen Morstein produce wines that are mineral-driven, structured, and age-worthy.

Our portfolio ranges from approachable estate wines to expressive village selections and top-tier single vineyard reserves, all crafted to capture the essence of Rheinhessen terroir with precision, authenticity, and elegance.
